Can Aesthetics take the FUN out of FUNction?

Our cases are stratified by the degree of surgical and restorative risk along with the complexity for both operative and prosthetic phases of the treatment. Yet, despite the successful outcome of every intervention be it in hard and/or soft tissue, our final success and our failures are determined by certain very specific criteria. Whether these criteria should be of an Aesthetics field origin or belong to the core function of the stomatognathic system is always a popular debate. The quest for high aesthetics often becomes a vain attempt which violates basic function variables.
The presentation will concentrate on the engineering of the anatomical and biological structures that can adequately support an implant-based rehabilitation as well as the methods of the treatment plan assessment. Investigate if high aesthetics can be achieved in implant dentistry and what is the grade of their effectiveness compared to a planning that is based purely on function variables. Clinical cases will be used as proof of principle to assume if aesthetics have fun and if aesthetics alone can deliver an optimum and positive long-term prognosis in contemporary implant dentistry.

The Digital Workflow – From your practice to your lab and back again.

Starting out in digital implant dentistry can be daunting with the multiple options and workflows available. But what can you do with Digital? And how do you start? Is digital there yet? Normally the digital workflow is shown from either the dentist (clinical) or the laboratory (technical) side, bur Steve and Martin are going to combine the 2 and show the complete digital workflow from the first to the final clinical appointment from both the laboratory and clinical points of view. This lecture will look at the digital workflow between the patient, dentist, laboratory and other external partners (such as milling centres) that allow a fully digital workflow.
